The APIdays in Paris: A review of Network API advancements
Nearly a year after the launch of Mobile Gateway and Camara-format APIs, the GSMA took advantage of the APIdays in Paris to bring together major telecom players. Objective: to review these innovations, share feedback, and explore their impact on security, customer experience, and business objectives.
A Roundtable of Telecom Experts
Moderated by Hélène Vigue, the discussion brought together experts from the main French operators. Among them were:
- Guillaume Cayatte (Business Owner Telco APIs – Orange)
- Lina Taguengayte (Product Manager – Bouygues Telecom)
- Dau Phi Nguyen (Value Added Services strategist – Free)
- Didier Cadars (Product Marketing Business Messaging and Digital Identity – SFR)
APIs at the heart of telecom challenges
At the core of the discussions, several key APIs were reviewed. Participants particularly detailed the KYC Match API, essential for identity verification and regulatory compliance, and the Number Verification API, now available in an improved version 2, offering even more robust and rapid phone number validation. The Tenure API, which allows knowing a customer’s seniority, was also highlighted for its potential in personalizing offers and managing customer relationships.
Combining fraud prevention and user experience
These solutions are not limited to fraud prevention, a major challenge for operators. Their simple and intuitive design facilitates their integration into existing systems, while ensuring a fluid experience for the end-user. They also represent an important lever for achieving business objectives, by opening the way to new services and improving customer journeys.
